Torbole sul Garda - Economy
Torbole sul Garda was initially a town that based its economy on farming and fishing but after having found its autonomy it sought a new type of economy, that of tourism. In 1980 the Windsurfing World Championship was held here, which made the name of Torbole sul Garda famous all over the world and over the years it has become one of the most famous destinations for windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts. In 1991 the Mountain Biking World Championships were held on Monte Brione, thus creating an ideal destination for cyclists too.
